Staying
in Compliance:
For Landlords who have received Certificates of Conformance
on their properties, keeping the property in lead paint
compliance is straightforward. Every certificate is
valid for two years from its date of issue. At the end
of this two-year certificate, the way a landlord can
renew depends on whether there have been any move outs
from the unit.
Long Term Tenants
If the tenants have not changed since you initially
received your certificate, then a property owner can
extend their compliance by doing it themselves. They
simply need to do a visual evaluation of the property
and complete the "Affidavit of Completion of Visual
Evaluation".
New or Short Term Tenants
At the end of the two year period, with tenants that
have changed during that time, the only way a property
owner can maintain compliance is to have an Independent
Clearance Inspection completed on the property. Place
your order for a $99 Lead Paint Inspection from RI Lead
Techs to maintain compliance on the property. We've got licensed Rhode Island
lead inspectors throughout the state.
