Sellers of pre-1978
homes (both single and multi-family) are required to go
through a similar process with the buyer. Seller's agents
and/or closing attorneys will often take care of this
when they are involved with a transaction. Buyers should
be given the EPA "Protect Your Family" booklet, a disclosure
about what is known about lead on the property, and use
the Seller's Disclosure Form to document that is has been
done. A copy of this should be retained for at least three
years.
